LIGHTHOUSE FUND

The LightHouse Fund was created in June 2013 as a beacon of hope for uninsured or underinsured women and children who live on the western slope of El Dorado County, to help with medical, hearing, mental-health, dental or optical assistance. The Fund was established by a Women’s Fund El Dorado member in memory of a loved one.

Since its creation in 2013, the LightHouse Fund has awarded more than $76,000 to 206 individuals in our community. This program is growing every day and provides a tangible and immediate impact in our community.

  • WHAT THE FUND DOES

The Lighthouse Fund provides up to $500 of financial assistance annually to uninsured or underinsured women and children for medical, hearing, mental health, dental and optical needs.

  • HOW TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE

Individuals share their need with a medical provider or with an El Dorado County western slope nonprofit agency (such as a school, church, or community organization). The provider or agency submits an application for assistance on behalf of the woman or child.

The application is available on this website, and it may be filled out online and emailed. The application may also be printed and mailed. An invoice for the treatment must accompany the application.  If the client/ patient cannot afford an initial diagnostic visit, please email Cathy Harris at coordinator@womensfundeldorado.org or call her at 530.306.1857

Applications are processed by the Lighthouse Committee within 48 hours.
